Ashley Hughes is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who provides compassionate, trauma-informed therapy to adults throughout Texas via telehealth. Ashley is passionate about helping individuals heal from the effects of trauma, narcissistic abuse, emotional abuse, anxiety, and relationship difficulties while building greater self-worth, resilience, and emotional well-being.
Ashley specializes in helping clients recover from narcissistic abuse, trauma bonds, emotional abuse, coercive control, PTSD, complex trauma, childhood emotional neglect, anxiety, panic, relationship trauma, divorce recovery, and long-standing patterns of low self-esteem and people-pleasing. She understands the profound impact that unhealthy relationships and adverse life experiences can have on a person's sense of safety, identity, and ability to trust themselves and others.
Ashley utilizes evidence-based approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy, to help clients process painful experiences, develop healthier coping strategies, and create meaningful, lasting change.
Ashley believes that healing is possible and strives to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can gain insight, process difficult experiences, and move forward with confidence, hope, and renewed purpose.
Ashley understands that feelings such as fear, failure, and hopelessness can be overwhelming. I've personally experienced similar struggles such as divorce, death of a parent, fertility issues, and navigating through domestic abuse. Life can become difficult however, there is HOPE! I was once just surviving and now I am thriving. And YOU can too!

As a Texas-based therapist, I specialize in treating trauma, narcissistic abuse, anxiety, and depression, working with clients from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
How I work…
My approach to therapy is compassionate, empathetic, & nonjudgmental mixed in with a little bit of humor. Therapy can be fun especially when you start to see the positive changes in your life.
It is my desire to support others in their healing journey. Asking for help can be a difficult step. Fear, failure, and hopelessness may be thoughts running through your mind. I have been there and can certainly relate.
The therapeutic perspectives I incorporate in therapy are Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered, DBT, and Trauma Informed Interventions. I best serve my clients by incorporating a variety of therapies and techniques based on individualized needs. Counseling is a process and by working together, therapeutic goals can be achieved. My aim is to give you the tools, skills, and resources necessary to lead a peaceful and content life.
I am trained as a Certified Narcissistic Abuse Treatment Clinician (NATC) Certified Trauma Professional (CPT), Certified Anxiety Informed Professional (CAIP) and Certified Grief Informed Professional (CGP) and a Certified Clinical Trauma & Resilience Practitioner (CCTRP).
